Hugh Pace works with C‐suite executives to maximize both personal and company performance. He serves as a “thought partner” who can provide insights and guidance to new and established leaders facing complex business and people issues. Outcomes generate more effective behavior, communication and relationships as well as improved analysis, planning and decision‐making. He also serves as a business consultant, guiding companies toward market‐driven profitable growth.

 

Hugh has served as coach and business consultant across industries, working primarily with top executives in manufacturing, marketing, service and biomedical research businesses. He serves on multiple corporate boards and is a faculty member at the Mahler Company, a global leader in providing programs for executive development. In the Advanced Management Skills Program (AMSP), he teaches executives how to lead change, manage culture and design strategy. His considerable experience managing intricate organizations combined with strong facilitation and teaching skills enables him to help others reach their leadership potential.

 

Business and Career Background 


Hugh developed his business knowledge and vast global experience through a progression of management roles that led to three different president/CEO positions. He has run businesses in the consumer product, industrial product and scientific services industries. As chairman and CEO of Pirelli Tire North America, he achieved record revenue, market share and financial performance. As president, he led privately held UK‐based Smithers Rapra Technology, a polymer‐oriented testing and consulting services business, out of bankruptcy, reorganized the business, made key hires and created a performance‐driven culture.  He was equally successful as president of the Asia Pacific SBU of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, growing sales, market share and profit margins for the $2B business.

 

Hugh also has held director positions in the Rubber Manufacturers Association, the American Chambers of Commerce in Mexico and Argentina, on multiple school boards and was a founding director of Goodyear’s Women’s Initiatives in Leadership.

 

Education 


Hugh holds an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a bachelor of arts in economics from Ohio Wesleyan University.
