Coaching and Consulting Experience 

 

Certified in the Columbia/FranklinCovey coaching framework, Andy has worked with executives and high-potential leaders in Fortune 500 companies, mid- to senior-level managers in large organizations, and Presidents and Founders in small regional companies. He specializes in coaching leaders who are committed to improving culture, challenged in coalescing a high-performing team, and struggling to stay balanced while inspiring a team to produce better results. His approach to coaching helps leaders discover their own path and then commit to and complete specific action plans that breed success from struggle or mediocrity and exceptional performance from those who are already very good leaders.

 

Andy has worked as a facilitator and senior consultant for clients in software, insurance, hospitality, foods, mortgage/banking, construction, healthcare, education, chemicals, technology, telecom, energy, transportation, and pharma. He has worked with many organizational functions including: sales, R&D, manufacturing, finance, marketing, IT, operations, learning and development, and HR. Andy has worked with clients throughout North and South America, Asia, and Europe. 

 

Business and Career Background 

 

Prior to joining FranklinCovey, Andy was the Lead Instructional Designer for Allen Communication, where he was assigned to a large mutual fund company account to develop new hire training. The outcome was a highly-rated and very impactful interactive training. He was also the Marketing Director for Pro Rightline, where he performed stock market analysis, stock selection, forecasting, newsletter editing, marketing, partnership development, and training and development. While serving as a high school principal, Andy’s first entrepreneurial venture came with the development of The Security Blanket, an information website guiding early adopters of the then new online stock trading platforms. He then founded Slate Canyon Design, focused on instructional and graphic design, marketing, web development, and SEO. Andy currently sits on the board of Utah’s fastest growing company, Firefly Automatix, Inc., and he previously served on the board at Mezzetta, a leading foods company in Napa Valley. 

 

Education and Certifications

 

Andy earned a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and a B.S. in teaching psychology, history, and coaching from Brigham Young University. He is familiar with and has used several 360 instruments and a variety of organizational assessments and tools, including Myers-Briggs, DiSC, FranklinCovey’s Trust Quotient 360, Leadership 360, and Effectiveness 360, and Hogan.
